Puri: Naveen hopes PM to inaugurate Puri airport in 3-4 years | India News

NEW DELHI: Barely a week after Odisha chief minister Naveen Patnaik said his party BJD won’t be part of any political front ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha election, he said on Thursday Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Puri in the next 3-4 years to inaugurate the proposed international airport on seaside.
“I am hopeful that with your cooperation and support, within three to four years, this airport will be ready, and the honourable Prime Minister will come to Shreekhetra to inaugurate the Shree Jagannath Puri International Airport,” the Odisha CM said while addressing the inauguration of Puri-Howrah Vande Bharat train, which was flagged off by Modi.
Patnaik’s observation comes at a time when the major opposition parties are trying to put a united front against the BJP in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls. Odisha also goes for the assembly polls in 2024.
The CM said he had discussed the proposed international airport project with Modi during his recent meeting. He said the suggestions made by the PM will be incorporated.
Lauding the launch of the first Vande Bharat Express train in the state and said it is one step closer towards the aspiration of India’s own Bullet Trains in the country.
