During his London theater performance, Paul Mescal revealed that a drunk “famous actor” fell asleep and snored. Mescal relived the occurrence during an interview on Jimmy Kimmel Live.

Mescal revealed that a drunk famous actor fell asleep during one of his early performances in A Streetcar Named Desire in London. The snoring was so loud that an usher had to wake the person up.

“The first theater we did it in was a lot more intimate and I think we had some inebriated audience members,” Mescal said. “We had one guy who’s actually kind of a famous actor — I will not name his name — but he fell asleep and was snoring, like fully comatose.”

He added: “The ushers came in and were like, ‘Excuse me, sir, you can’t be snoring.’ And he woke up and refused to acknowledge it was him.”

The 27-year-old Oscar nominee admitted that the incident didn’t quite entertain him. He told Kimmel: “I was furious. I didn’t know who it was. You’re in the dark and I couldn’t see who it was.”

“He was young. It narrows it down a bit,” Mescal joked, leading Kimmel to say that there will be “an online mystery game trying to figure out who this person is”.

He also told Kimmel about bringing his parents to the Oscars in March when he was nominated for Best Actor for his role in Aftersun. He joked about his dad dancing with music legend Cher at the ceremony.

He said: “He got to dance, as he said, with Cher. He was in the vicinity of Cher, dancing – and my dad says ‘with’ him.

“Cher was definitely not dancing with my dad! He had a great time. I am correcting him here on television: he did not dance with Cher!”
