Oscars library invites The Vaccine War script for Academy collections, Vivek Agnihotri hails the achievement of the ‘Indian superheroes’ | Hindi Movie News

The Vaccine War’ may not have made the right noise at the box office, but the film is sure getting noticed. In the latest developments, this Vivek Agnihotri directorial has been invited by the Academy for their library.
Revealing the news, the filmmaker shared on X (formerly Twitter), “I am proud that the script of #TheVaccineWar #ATrueStory has been invited and accepted in the ‘Academy Collections’ by the library of http://Oscars.org.I am happy that for hundreds of years more and more serious people will read this great story of Indian superheroes.”

He also shared a screenshot of the email he received from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, which stated that they are interested in acquiring a copy of the screenplay of ‘The Vaccine War’ for the permanent core collection of the library.
‘The Vaccine War’ stars Nana Patekar, Anupam Kher, Raima Sen, Pallavi Joshi and Sapthami Gowda in lead roles. The film pays a tribute to the dedication of the medical fraternity and scientists, who developed the COVID-19 vaccine Covaxin within a span of seven months, amid the pandemic. It is based on the book ‘Going Viral’ by Prof Balram Bhargava, Director General – Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR).
‘The Vaccine War’ released on September 28 and earned Rs 1.3 crore on the opening day. It clashed with comedy drama ‘Fukrey 3’ and Raghava Lawrence and Kangana Ranaut’s ‘Chandramukhi 2’. ‘The Vaccine War’ has collected around Rs 13 crore at the worldwide box office.
Speaking about the project, director Vivek Agnihotri had previously told ANI, “When The Kashmir Files was postponed during Covid lockdown, I started researching on it. Then we started researching with the scientists of ICMR & NIV who made our own vaccine possible. Their story of struggle and sacrifice was overwhelming and while researching we understood how these scientists fought a war waged against India not just by foreign agencies but even our own people. Yet, we won against superpowers by making fastest, cheapest and safest vaccine. I thought this story must be told so that every Indian can feel proud of their country.” ‘The Vaccine War’ is scheduled to hit the screens on September 28.
