One dead, six injured in explosion at Samba scrap factory | India News

JAMMU: A labourer died while six others were injured in an explosion that rocked a scrap factory in Kalagate Industrial area of Bari Brahmana in Jammu and Kashmir’s Samba district on Saturday.
As per a preliminary investigation, the blast was caused by a mortar shell in the scrap, Samba SSP Benam Tosh told reporters while ruling out any terror angle in the tragedy.
The deceased labourer was identified as Mohan Lal (35) from Rajouri. He was declared brought dead at the hospital and the body was sent for a post-mortem, police said.
Those injured were rushed to a nearby hospital from where five with critical injuries, including two supervisors and three labourers, were referred to the Jammu GMCH. The sixth injured person, also a supervisor, was under treatment at Samba hospital.
Further probe was under way, police said.
