Nick Kyrgios is getting open and honest about his mental health.

The 28-year-old tennis player spoke out during the second season of Netflix‘s Break Point, revealing what really happened following his loss at Wimbledon in 2019.

Nick was admitted into a psychiatric ward in London due to suicidal thoughts following Wimbledon in 2019, Australian media reported Wednesday (June 14).

“I was genuinely contemplating if I wanted to commit suicide,” he said in the sixth episode titled “Belonging,” out on June 21.

Nick lost to Rafael Nadal in the second round.

“’I lost at Wimbledon. I woke up and my dad was sitting on the bed, full-blown crying. That was the big wake-up call for me. I was like: ‘OK, I can’t keep doing this.’ I ended up in a psych ward in London to figure out my problems,“ he said.

He also revealed that during Wimbledon, he wore a sleeve to cover up marks of self-harm.

“If you look closely, on my right arm you can see my self-harm,” he said in an Instagram post last year.

“I was having suicidal thoughts and was literally struggling to get out of bed, let alone play in front of millions.”

Nick Kyrgios had some strong words for a fan who interrupted his match against Rafael Nadal last year.
