Neha Dhupia mourned the loss of filmmaker Pradeep Sarkar, who passed away on March 24 at a Mumbai hospital. He was 67.
Talking about him, Neha said ‘Helicopter Eela’ was not the first time she worked with the ace director. The actress revealed that he was the one calling the shots when she faced the camera for the first time. She did a music video for Euphoria called ‘Sha Na Na Na Na’. Sarkar cast her saying, ‘You have it in you to become an actor’.

Elaborating further, Neha added that if he hadn’t auditioned her for the first time, if he hadn’t given her the chance over the other two actors, and if he hadn’t thought that she could do it, she doesn’t know where she would have been or what she would have done. According to her, the loss seems far greater. She wished she could have had more time with him. The news has been very sudden, and it is still sinking in as she is talking about it, Neha told the Hindustan Times.

Recalling fond memories attached to her ‘Sarkar Dada’, Neha shared that she will always remember him having a laugh in the most adverse situations. He just had this happy face. She also remembered the director getting delicious food on the sets of ‘Helicopter Eela’. Neha concluded by saying that she is here because of him.

Pradeep Sarkar has films like, Parineeta, Laaga Chunari Mein Daag, Lafangey Parindey, Mardaani and others to his credit.
