Navya Naveli Nanda reveals that Agastya Nanda can make tea and she can handle finances

Despite being the granddaughter of Amitabh Bachchan, Navya Naveli Nanda made a distinct choice to not pursue acting and instead has established herself as an entrepreneur. Her decision has allowed her to carve out a unique place for herself. Navya Naveli has become a source of inspiration for numerous young women, actively contributing to women’s health initiatives and demonstrating independence from a young age. 

In a recent interview, Navya Naveli disclosed that she and her brother Agastya Nanda were raised with the belief in equality, further highlighting their upbringing. She shared that her grandmother, Jaya Bachchan, once imparted an important lesson to her—women possess innate management skills, making them excellent entrepreneurs. Jaya Bachchan emphasised that the role of a homemaker is akin to that of a company’s CEO.

Consequently, Navya Naveli and her brother Agastya were raised by their mother, Shweta Nanda, with this mindset of equality. As a result, financial responsibilities, including budgeting, were evenly distributed between them. She expressed that their independent earnings have provided them with a firsthand understanding of the value of money.

Additionally, she disclosed that there is a mutual understanding between her and her brother—she takes on tasks that he does, and vice versa. For instance, Navya is capable of managing household finances, while Agastya is ready to brew tea for guests, as per their upbringing.

However, during an interview with Barkha Dutt on Mojo Story, Shweta Nanda candidly admitted that she has been tougher on Navya Naveli. She explained that the world can be challenging for women, necessitating them to be stronger, more vigilant, and cautious. Shweta emphasised the importance of equipping her daughter with the resilience to navigate through life’s obstacles.
