MVA Government: Uddhav Thackeray: Maha Vikas Aghadi government ousted to give Dharavi project to Adani | India News

MUMBAI: Alleging the Dharavi redevelopment project was “the world’s biggest Transfer of Development Rights scam”, Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray Saturday claimed one of the reasons the MVA government led by him was pulled down was “to award the project to Adani“. He made these remarks at a rally after leading a morcha against alleged irregularities in the project in Mumbai.
Uddhav described the project as “Devendra Fadnavis’s sin” which the BJP leader “committed when he was CM in 2018”, and claimed it was now “clear” who had provided the “khoke (money) and booked flights and hotels for rebel Sena MLAs last year.” He alleged “since the 50 khoke was over, the government was looking to usurp Dharavi and Mumbai.”
Reiterating that he was not against Dharavi’s development, Uddhav demanded Dharavi residents get 500 sq ft homes, and all industries operating in the slum enclave be retained as part of the redevelopment project.
