[ad_1]

Several MLAs and MPs across parties have threatened to quit if the Maharashtra government does not announce reservations for Marathas soon, a day after Shiv Sena MP Hemant Patilannounced his resignation to support the ongoing agitation. The quit spree seems to have seeped to the grassroots, with nine of 11 members of an Ahmednagar panchayat bowing out in support of the cause.
NCP Junnar MLA Atul Benke – aligned to deputy CM Ajit Pawar‘s camp – joined quota protesters in his constituency on Monday. Congress MLA from Parbhani, Suresh Warpurkar, has landed in Mumbai after reportedly drafting a resignation letter. BJP MLA Laxman Pawar, who represents Gevrai, announced he was “preparing” a resignation to be handed to the assembly speaker.
In Nashik, two-time Shiv Sena MP Hemant Godse has written to CM Shinde seeking to resign in solidarity with the cause.
