Instagram model Jade Ramey is refuting allegations made by Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones that she was a sex worker employed by Sean “Diddy” Combs. Ramey clarified the misconceptions during an exchange with Entertainment Tonight, fervently denouncing the allegations as baseless.
“Yes, I dated someone. Dating someone doesn’t directly correlate to any of the false allegations made,” Ramey, 30, told Entertainment Tonight in a Friday, April 5, statement. “How unfortunate we’ve entered a time where caring for someone or falling in love is worthy of scrutiny in the court of public opinion. What may be amusing for you is real life for others, and my feelings have never been for entertainment, nor are they up for discussion.”
She added, “We need to be more conscious as a society when ridiculing people’s lives and relationships merely for enjoyment. I appreciate everyone’s kind messages and support during this time.”
Jones, 38, raised a lawsuit against Diddy, 54, in February, alleging a series of troubling acts, including sexual harassment, administering drugs, and threats spanning over a year. The accuser, a known figure in the record production industry, also alleged that Diddy was involved in sex trafficking women, naming Ramey and Daphne Joy, previously linked romantically to rapper 50 Cent. (Joy, aged 37, also denied these allegations.)
The legal documents submitted by Jones portray Diddy as someone who openly discussed financial arrangements with several women, citing Ramey and Joy as examples.
Contrastingly, Diddy’s representation has issued statements rigorously refuting the allegations. Diddy’s attorney, Shawn Holley, dismissed Jones’ claims as fictitious and motivated by greed.
“Lil Rod is nothing more than a liar who filed a $30 million lawsuit, shamelessly looking for an undeserved payday,” Diddy’s lawyer, Shawn Holley, stated in February. “His reckless name-dropping about events that are pure fiction and simply did not happen is nothing more than a transparent attempt to garner headlines.”
Holley continued: “We have overwhelming, indisputable proof that his claims are complete lies. We will address these outlandish allegations in court and take all appropriate action against those who make them.”
In the weeks following the lawsuit, two properties owned by Diddy, located in Los Angeles and Miami, saw law enforcement conduct raids. The actions in March, as noted by Homeland Security, were connected to a broader federal investigation into sex trafficking. Diddy has not been apprehended nor formally implicated in any criminal activity. His counsel, including attorney Aaron Dyer, sharply criticized the manner in which the raids were conducted.
Dyer voiced his objections, stating, “There was a gross overuse of military-level force as search warrants were executed at Mr. Combs’ residences. There is no excuse for the excessive show of force and hostility exhibited by authorities or the way his children and employees were treated.”
