PATNA: RJD president Lalu Prasad’s eldest daughter Misa Bharti on Thursday triggered a sort of political storm by threatening to send PM Narendra Modi and scores of BJP leaders to jail if the INDIA bloc is voted to power at the Centre after the Lok Sabha elections, inviting bitter reactions from the BJP.
Misa, currently a Rajya Sabha Member, is contesting the Lok Sabha elections for the third consecutive time from Patliputra parliamentary seat. She had unsuccessfully contested the last two LS polls from the same seat, losing to her BJP rival and Lalu’s once close aide Ram Kripal Yadav by a narrow margin.
“PM has been constantly targeting our family over the issue of corruption, but he has been silent on the electoral bond…

Jante hain kitna bada bhrashtachar hai

(do you know how big this fraud is)? If the people of this country give the INDIA bloc a chance (to form the government at the Centre), then the PM and all BJP leaders will be behind the bars,” Misa told the media on Thursday.
Mincing no words, she said they are talking about generating 30 lakh jobs, increasing the income of farmers and implementing the MSP but “he (PM) is seeing these as appeasement.” “Why didn’t he (PM) speak about dynastic rule when he came to campaign for his son (obliquely referring to Arun Bharti who is contesting from Jamui seat on LJP (RV) ticket)?” she asked.
Bharti is Jijaji (brother-in-law) of current Jamui MP Chirag Paswan who this time has shifted to his father late Ram Vilas Paswan’s home Lok Sabha seat of Hajipur, currently represented by his estranged uncle and former Union minister Pashupati Kumar Paras in the Lok Sabha.
Her move drew bitter criticisms from the BJP which described it as the falling standard of poll campaign in the opposition camp. “They (opposition) want to send Modi ji to jail but the people of this country want to know if they will also put the corrupt behind the bars? The country wants the terrorists to be killed but Misa says they will send the PM to jail,” BJP general secretary and party’s Bihar in-charge Vinod Tawde asked.
Reacting sharply to her statements, local BJP MP and former Union minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said it was strange Misa was threatening the PM while her entire family is neck deep in corruption. “If you think your threats will frighten the PM and the BJP leaders, they forget…

Karwai chalegi aur khub chalegi,

” Prasad told the media.
Advising Misa against passing derogatory remarks towards the PM, he said the woman whose father has been convicted in the fodder scam and whose family takes bribes in lieu of giving jobs is issuing such threats. “Action will continue against them,” he said.
