Max Healthcare buys Alexis for Rs 412 crore

NEW DELHI: Max Healthcare announced the acquisition of a 100% stake in Alexis Multi-Speciality Hospital (Alexis) for an enterprise value of Rs 412 crore.
The 200-bedded hospital owned and operated by Alexis is a JCI-accredited facility located near Nagpur, offering multidisciplinary care in gastroenterology, neurosurgery, cardiology, transplants, according to a company statement.
Abhay Soi, chairman and managing director, Max Healthcare said, “The acquisition of Alexis Hospital is in line with our vision to expand our footprint in tier-II cities with abundance of clinical talent and developed private healthcare infrastructure.
Alexis Hospital acquisition will strengthen our presence in the Maharashtra region. With this addition, we now have four JCI accredited facilities in our network’’.
This follows close on the heels of Max acquiring the 550-bed Sahara Hospital in Lucknow for an enterprise value of Rs 940 crore, in December last year.
The current run rate of revenue and EBITDA for Alexis is Rs 150 crore and around Rs 25 crore respectively.
The bed capacity can be expanded to around 340 beds after necessary regulatory approvals.
