Logistics: Held for pro-Pak slogans, 13 fined Rs 4L for land grab | India News

VARANASI: Thirteen of the 33 people who were arrested for shouting pro-Pakistan slogans during a Muharram procession in Jaunpur on July 29 have been issued notices to pay Rs 4 lakh as penalty for illegal possession of government land.

Jaunpur sub-divisional magistrate Rajesh Chaurasia on Monday said the probe into the arrested people, who are now in jail, revealed that 13 of them had encroached upon government land in Kishundaspur village to construct a building. The process of assessing the loss was initiated against these 13 encroachers. tnn
