[ad_1]
DAKAR: Latest results from Liberia’s presidential election runoff showed opposition leader Joseph Boakai with 50.64% of the vote on Saturday and incumbent president George Weah, who has already conceded defeat, with 49.36%.
The elections commission said the preliminary results were based on tallied votes from 99.98% of polling stations. Final results will be announced on Monday, it said.
Weah conceded to Boakai late on Friday after a tight race, when results showed his challenger had an unassailable if narrow lead with nearly all votes counted.
