NEW DELHI: A Delhi court granted bail on Wednesday to former Bihar CM and RJD chief Lalu Prasad, his wife, Rabri Devi, and daughter Misa Bharti in a case involving an alleged land-for-jobs scam.
The court granted bail subject to the accused furnishing a personal bond of Rs 50,000 and one surety of like amount each.
The court of special judge, Geetanjali Goel, stated in the order, dated March 15, 2023, that bail was being granted“…as the chargesheet has been filed without arrest of the accused persons”.
The court ordered the accused not to tamper with evidence nor try to influence witnesses, and to deposit their passports.
It said they “shall not travel abroad without the permission of the court”.
The case pertains to alleged appointments made in the railways in exchange for land transferred to Lalu’s family when he was railway minister from 2004 to 2009.
