Top candidates
In the 2019 elections, Mohammed Faizal Padippura of the Nationalist Congress Party clinched victory with 22,851 votes. His closest rival, Hamdullah Sayeed of the Indian National Congress, secured 22,028 votes, losing by 823 votes. Faizal’s tenure as MP was interrupted by disqualification due to a 10-year jail term.
