Kiran Rao reveals she never criticised Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s ‘Animal’; asks him to address his questions directly to Mr Khan |

Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao had recently discussed misogyny in Indian films, and there were allegations that they referred to Vanga’s film. In response to Rao’s criticism, Vanga suggested that she should consider looking at the movies Khan has done before commenting on his work. Rao has now responded to Vanga’s claims, stating that she never mentioned any specific films in her comments.
In a recent interview, Rao addressed the topic and clarified that she hasn’t commented on Sandeep’s films because she hasn’t seen them.During a conversation with Quint, Kiran Rao mentioned that she has frequently discussed misogyny and the portrayal of women in films on various occasions.

The Laapataa Ladies director further opined that she was speaking about misogyny in general and will continue to do so. She went back in time and recalled how Aamir Khan apologized for the song Khambe Jaisi Khadi Hai that Sandeep Reddy Vanga has pointed out.

Commending Aamir, she mentioned that he is among the rare individuals who have apologised, specifically for songs like ‘Khambe Jaisi Khadi Hai’ and similar instances in their body of work.

In the same discussion, Rao expressed that if Sandeep Reddy Vanga has specific matters to discuss with Aamir, she suggested addressing them directly with Aamir in a one-on-one conversation. She clarified that she is not accountable for Aamir Khan’s work and encouraged Vanga to communicate his questions directly to Aamir Khan.
