Kerry Washington has joined a big cast of major stars for Netflix‘s Six Triple Eight.
According to Deadline, the 45-year-old actress will not only star in the upcoming WWII era film, but also executive produce the project with director and writer Tyler Perry.

The outlet revealed that alongside Kerry, Sam Waterston, Susan Sarandon and Oprah Winfrey will also star in the movie, as well as Ebony Obsidian, Milauna Jackson, Kylie Jefferson, Shanice Shantay, and Sarah Jeffery.
Pepi Sonuga, Jay Reeves, Jeanté Godlock, Moriah Brown, Baadja-Lyne Odums, Gregg Sulkin and Dean Norris will also be on screen in the flick.
The film is based on an article by Kevin M. Hymel, and was published in WWII History Magazine by Sovereign Media.
The article told the story of “the only all-Black, all-female World War II Battalion” which consisted of “855 women joined the war effort with little knowledge of what exactly they would be doing, but were quickly given the mission of a lifetime: sorting through and fixing a three-year backlog of undelivered mail.”
