Kashmir: Eight hurt in Kashmir road mishap, seven Amarnath pilgrims

JAMMU: Seven Amarnath pilgrims were among eight injured when a vehicle crashed into a divider near the Tikkri area in Udhampur district in Kashmir on Sunday, police said.
“The accident took place at Tikkri -Mand area on the Jammu-Srinagar national highway when the driver of the vehicle lost control over the vehicle and skidded into a roadside ditch resulting in injuries to eight persons including four women,” said police.
“The passengers of the ill-fated vehicle were scheduled to visit the Cave shrine of Shri Amarnath on July 4 and they were heading for their pilgrimage. Locals and police immediately evacuated the injured to hospitals,” police said.
All the injured pilgrims belong to Sahranpur in Uttar Pradesh. “Barring the driver, the condition of the remaining injured was stated to be stable,” said police.
