Karan Johar has been known for his discretion and privacy when it comes to his personal life, particularly his dating life. Like many Bollywood celebrities, there have been occasional reports and gossip in the media linking him with various individuals. However, these rumors have rarely been confirmed by Karan himself. The filmmaker recently shared his experience with dating platforms for social connection which did not turn out to be as expected.
When asked about being on any dating app, Karan told Bollywood Hungama that he did try once on Raya because he was told the dating app is for people in the entertainment industry. But every time he would tick someone, they didn’t tick him back or didn’t respond.
He then went on to reveal that he faced multiple rejections and then realised the people he was ticking must have thought he was a fake account. “So I was like, I really got rejected and I left that particular dating app. I mean, no offense, I’m sure they do a great job. But like, I felt an inferiority being rejected constantly because I was being quite like lenient also I thought,” he added.
Karan has been more focused on his successful career in the entertainment industry, including filmmaking, producing, and hosting talk shows. He is known for his contributions to Indian cinema and has played a significant role in shaping the industry.
In 2017, Karan became a father through surrogacy and welcomed twins, a daughter named Roohi and a son named Yash. He often shares glimpses of his life as a doting father on his social media accounts.
