He also shared advice for celebs who mostly get it wrong on the red carpet and said that they can always wear a saree, as it hardly goes wrong. As per him, it is the most beautiful gift that our culture has given us, that is to team up a stunning saree with an absolutely beautiful blouse.
Karan also mentioned that wearing a saree is not tough at all, everyone knows how to wear it and it is the easiest thing in the world. He also revealed that he had tied Kajol’s sarees during Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge as an AD. He highlights that if he can tie a saree, anybody else also can. Karan also stated that it is not rocket science and there are many YouTube videos which can teach you how to do it.
Coming back to the character of Rani Chatterjee ( Alia Bhatt) in the Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, the first thing Karan told his designer Manish Malhotra that he wants her to be only in sarees. The only time she breaks it is when she is traveling in the snow, in the song Tum Kya Mile before the dream sequence starts, and then the sarees come out, before that she was in jackets etc. She (Alia) has worn about just three western dresses in the entire film.
