It was a rare sight to see ex-couples Kalki Koechlin and Anurag Kashyap coming under the same roof for celebration. On August 3, Kalki along with her husband Guy Hershberg and their daughter Sappho attend Anurag’s daughter Aaliyah Kashyap and Shane Gregoire‘s engagement party in Mumbai.
In her recent interview with India Today, Kalki opened up about her equation with her ex-husband and said that she is very much at ease with Anurag now. She mentioned that they have been through so much together and so much apart but now they have reached a place of peace between them.
When Kalki was asked if Anurag was involved in her latest film Goldfish, she said that he saw the film at the Busan International Film Festival and loved it. “He was really supportive about it. And we’re really glad to have him on board. So yeah, we’re good now,” she added.
She also said that Sappho and Aaliyah get along well. “Aaliyah is very cute with my daughter. They really have kind of a playful thing. So basically, my daughter thinks Aaliyah is a real princess,” she said.
For the uninitiated, Kalki was launched by Anurag in Dev D. They started dating each other and later tied the knot. But their romance was short-lived and they parted ways in 2013. Anurag was earlier married to Aarti Bajaj, with whom they had one daughter Aaliyah.
Aaliyah got engaged to her long-time boyfriend Shane Gregoire earlier in May 2023. She had announced her engagement with an Instagram post that reads, “soooooo THIS HAPPENED!!!!! to my best friend, my partner, my soulmate and now my FIANCE! you are the love of my life. thank you for showing me what real & unconditional love feels like. saying yes to you was the easiest thing I’ve ever done & I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with you, my love. I love you forever & always Fiance (still can’t believe I get to call you that AAHHHH).”
