Joe Jonas may have subtlety hinted at his ongoing divorce from Sophie Turner while on stage.

During the Jonas Brothers‘ concert on September 6 in Phoenix, Ariz., Joe, 34, changed the lyrics to their song “Hestitate,” which he wrote about Sophie, 27.

A day earlier, news broke that the couple, who have been together since 2016 and married in 2019, are planning to divorce, as Joe filed for a dissolution of marriage in Miami, Fla.

The live performance of “Hesitate” saw Joe sing “Don’t be scared because I’m on her side” in place of the original lyrics, which read, “Don’t be scared because I’m on your side.”

“Hesitate” comes from the Jonas Brothers‘ 2019 LP Happiness Begins. In the past, Joe has been vocal about how his romance with Sophie inspired the track.

“It’s like my vows before I wrote my vows. It’s my promise to Sophie,” Joe said in the Jonas Brothers’ 2020 documentary, Chasing Happiness.

“For me, it takes me to a whole other universe, I’m seeing her walk down the aisle again every time I close my eyes,” he added.
