‘Jeetuji nahin aaye’: Junior Mehmood is longing to meet his old friends Sachin Pilgaonkar and Jeetendra, reveals his close friend Salam Kazi | Hindi Movie News

Veteran character actor Junior Mehmood has been diagnosed with stage four stomach cancer. Recently, popular comedian Johnny Lever paid a visit to Jr Mehmood at his Mumbai residence. Jr Mehmood’s close friend Salam Kazi has now revealed that the ailing actor has expressed his wish to meet his old friend and veteran actor Jeetendra, with whom he has acted in several films, including Caravan.
“Jr Mehmood bhai told me Jeetuji nahin aaye, mujhe milna hain unse (Jeetendra has not come to meet I want to meet him),” Kazi, who has been working with Jr Mehmood for 15 years, told ETimes.
The actor is also longing for another close (childhood) friend and co-star Sachin Pilgaonkar to meet him. Though Sachin made a video call to Mehmood but the latter is still waiting for him to come and meet him.
“Mehmood Bhai is also keen to meet his childhood friend and I think one should fulfill his wish I have messaged him but waiting for him to revert to me,” Kazi told us.
Junior Mehmood and Sachin Pilgaonkar made a hit Jodi as child artists and also worked together in their adulthood, in films like Bachpan, Geet Gaata Chal and Brahmachari.

Earlier, Kazi had a news agency that Jr Mehmood was ill for 2 months and initially they thought that he might have some minor problem. But after that suddenly his weight started decreasing. And when the medical reports came, it said there was cancer in the liver and lungs and a tumour in the intestine. He has also developed jaundice. The treatment going on, but the doctors said it’s a stage four cancer.

Johnny Lever had also said that he was in touch with Jr Mehmood regularly but he never mentioned his health issues, informing that he had met him one-and-a-half months ago. “I was informed by one of his close associates that he has been unwell for ten days and is on liquid, and that he has cancer. That’s when I met him and I was told that he has stage four stomach cancer,” he said, adding that Jr Mehmood was undergoing treatment at the Tata Memorial Hospital in Parel.
Jr Mehmood, 67, has been featured in over 200 films in different languages. He is best known for movies like Brahmachari, Mera Naam Joker, Parvarish, and Do Aur Do Paanch.
