Jaane Jaan trailer launch: Kareena Kapoor Khan talks about working with Vijay Varma, Jaideep Ahlawat

Kareena Kapoor Khan is all geared up for the release of her OTT debut film Jaane Jaan which is directed by Sujoy Ghosh. The trailer of the film is finally out now. On Tuesday, at the trailer launch event, Kareena revealed that she was pregnant with her second son Jehangir when she received the script of Jaane Jaan.

When asked about debuting with a thriller on OTT, she replied, “I personally enjoy watching a thriller, crime, mystery and that’s generally my go-to whenever I’m watching, I steered towards that. So, when I read this story I was like ‘It’s amazing’. It was a personal choice. I think when you watch these kinds of shows or movies, you want to kind of do that. So what better will it be than debuting on OTT with a thriller? So, it was an instant kind of a feeling and I have also loved Sujoy’s (Ghosh) work and we have always wanted to work together. For over a decade, we have been going back and forth.”

Talking about her experience in working with Vijay Varma and Jaideep Ahlawat she revealed that she forgot her lines while watching Vijay Varma and Jaideep Ahlawat working, something that has never happened to her before. She also stated that her husband, actor Saif Ali Khan had asked her to be on her toes since Jaideep and Vijay cme prepared on set.

When asked about doing something different, Kareena said, “I think it’s nothing, there is no thought behind it. I think as an actor everybody wants to try to do something different at every stage in their life, of course with me it’s always been very difficult because I’ve always been known that whether it is quirky, just like I said in the announcement and it’s sat on my mind that now I want to do different things even though I have always tried but people always still push those roles ahead, they don’t give the films that I have before chosen the character in Yuva, Chameli, Omkara, but they still go back to that. But hopefully, now I’ve been trying to do it (different roles) and I know they will keep coming back to do it again.”

Meanwhile, Jaane Jaan is adapted from the best-selling novel, The Devotion of Suspect X, written by a Japanese author, Higashino Keigo. The film also stars Jaideep Ahlawat and Vijay Varma. It is slated to be released on OTT on September 21.
