NEW DELHI: Government’s move to denotify real estate space in IT SEZs partially will be a significant relief for developers and operators of such office parks as it will now allow them to lease office space in SEZ areas to even those IT companies that are not involved in export activity.
The companies operating from SEZ were getting I-T relief under section 80I.But in 2019-20, the government withdrew the incentives. However, the IT companies not operating in the export markets were not allowed to operate from SEZ. So, the present notification by the government will help developers reduce vacancy levels at their SEZs, said Prashant Thakur, regional director and head – research, ANAROCK Group.
