AHMEDABAD: Travelling abroad from the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International (SVPI) Airport in Ahmedabad, any time soon? Your departure experience will now be hassle-free as the city airport has expanded its departure, immigration area at the international terminal i.e. Terminal-2. The immigrationarea was opened in the departures area on Wednesday itself.Airport officials say the addition will enhance passenger flow during peak hours and ensure a smoother and more efficient departure experience for all travellers.

The international terminal handles some 2,500 passenger departures from Ahmedabad every day, ferrying them to 14 destinations across the globe through 17 airlines.
The new terminal is equipped with modern facilities, additional counters for immigration check and verification, that will help ease the waiting period of passengers departing from the city airport. This will add to more efficiency.

Recently, a new arrival hall was also inaugurated at the international terminal of the SVPI airport. This also enables International-to-International (I-to-I) transfers, apart from an enhanced passenger seating capacity.
