After Dharmendra shared an emotional post apologising to Hema Malini and his daughter Esha and Ahana Deol, the family feud has come out in the limelight. Now, a video of Hema Malini recalling how Dharmendra was usually absent from the lives of daughter Esha and Ahana Deol is doing rounds on the internet. Hema Malini was Dharmendra’s second wife. The veteran actor was previously married to Prakash Kaur. He has four kids: sons Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol and daughters Vijeeta and Ajeita.

Hema Malini made a guest appearance on the popular Simi Garewal chat show. She was accompanied by her daughters, Esha and Ahana Deol. During the interaction, when the host quizzed Hema Malini on whether partners being supportive of each other is a must in a relationship, the actress shared it is important just to make a few decisions. She further revealed that in her case, Dharmendra did not participate much in the decision-making regarding their daughters because he was occupied with work commitments. Dharmendra’s overprotectiveness

During the conversation, Hema Malini recalled how Dharmendra would be very particular about the way his daughters dress up. “He likes them to always be in salwar kameez. So, my daughters, the moment he’s coming, they’ll wear salwar kameez and come,” the veteran star said.
The then-17-year-old Esha Deol also agreed with her mother. She said, “He (Dharmendra) doesn’t like us wearing sleeveless tops and short pants. Whenever he comes home, we wear trousers or salwar kameez.” Esha also made some shocking revelations about Dharmendra’s orthodox mindset. The actress revealed how her father did not allow them to go out for events and activities as he preferred them to stay at home. Esha credited Hema Malini for being the sole source of support for her and Ahana. “Mama’s there so we manage to go out for sports,” she added.

The claims, made by Hema Malini and Esha Deol, did not go down well with Reddit users who slammed Dharmendra and his mindset in the comments. One of the users said, “With a father like that who is selectively available, maybe they enjoyed him not being around much.” Another called the veteran star “a bright red flag.”
