[ad_1]

China is sending vice-president Han Zheng to the UN General Assembly’s annual summit, the ministry of foreign affairs said Friday, suggesting that the country’s most senior diplomat, Wang Yi, will not attend. This year’s gathering at UN headquarters in New York starts Monday. Wang attended last year and generally represented China at the UN. Han is a past member of the Politburo Standing Committee. He retired from that post but assumed the position of the VP in March.
