PUNE: In response to the burgeoning interest in electric vehicles (EVs) across the country, Pune-based Ride-hailing startup GREL has introduced an all electric cab service in the city. GREL is co-founded by Mayank Gupta and Sarthak Bansal, a statement issued by the company said.
Bansal, chief executive officer of GREL said in the statement, “Currently operating primarily from Pune Airport, we plan to expand our fleet by adding 300 more electric cars by the end of 2024.”
The company also intends to establish four additional hubs within the city, promising Pune commuters a futuristic and impressive inner city cab riding experience.
GREL stands out in the market due to its commitment to environmental responsibility and addressing common issues faced by customer using traditional taxi services. Observing the increasing demand for electric vehicles in India, the duo decided to embark on this venture to contribute to the EV revolution.

The company also offers zero cancellation, zero surge pricing policy, and a fleet of clean and safe electric cars,” said Bansal.
Till date GREL has completed over 8000 trips, covering a distance exceeding a hundred and fifty thousand kilometers. Notably, the company’s commitment to an all-electric fleet has prevented the emission of over 15,000 kilograms of carbon dioxide.
