Green Bond: Green bond debut sees strong demand

[ad_1] MUMBAI: The maiden auction to issue sovereign green bond (SGrB) saw strong demand from investors on Friday. The total demand was at Rs 12,464 crore against Rs 5,000 crore on offer. The cut-off yield for the five-year bonds was 7.25%, RBI data showed.While announcing its gilt auction calendar for the second half of the current fiscal, the government had said that it would issue SGrB and securities of 50-year tenure.Friday's auction was part of that government plan under which it would issue SGrBs aggregating Rs 15,000 crore in the current fiscal.
