Fugitive Goldy Brar, who allegedly ordered the murder of Punjabi rapper Sidhu Moose Wala, has been included in the list of Canada’s 25 ‘most wanted’ criminals, the Canadian government announced on Monday. The Indian government had in June last year got a Red Corner notice issued by the Interpol for Satinderjeet Singh, better known as Goldy Brar.
According to Canada, the BOLO (be on the lookout) programme in Canada announced an update to its list of Canada’s 25 most wanted fugitives on May 1, addingBrar’s name. “The programme is a Canadian not-for profit organisation that amplifies police fugitive cases to increase public awareness. Interpol-Ottawa’s ‘fugitive apprehension support team’ (FAST) has added fugitive Satinderjit Singh ‘Goldy’ Brar as the latest addition to the Top 25 list,” said the Canadian government in a statement, adding that Brar was believed to be in Canada and represented a risk to public safety.
He is currently under investigation but is not charged with any criminal offence in Canada. “Brar is the subject of a Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) investigation into the allegations originating from India. The offences committed in India are very serious in nature and merit the interest of police in Canada,” said the Canadian government, adding RCMP was working closely with Indian law enforcement to ensure that justice was provided to the victims.
According to Canada, Brar is also accused of orchestrating the murders of Rajat Kumar, Gurlal Singh, and is also suspected to have ordered the murder ofMoose Wala.
According to Interpol, Brar has been charged with murder, criminal conspiracy, and the supply of illegal firearms in India. The Punjab Police have blamed Goldy Brar and gangster Lawrence Bishnoi for the killing of Moose Wala.
Bishnoi, who remains in jail since his arrest in 2015, has been operating his terror-crime syndicate from prisons in different states along with Brar, according to the police. Brar is also an accused in the killing of ‘Dera Sacha Sauda’ follower Pradeep Kumar at Faridkot (Punjab) in November 2022.
