RAIPUR: Taking a dig at Congress MP Rahul Gandhi’s “Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra” commencing on January 14, Union minister Giriraj Singh suggested that the Congress leader should embark on a “Gyan Yatra” (journey of knowledge) instead of Nyay Yatra.
The minister of rural development and the panchayati raj department, upon reaching Raipur airport on Saturday, told the media that Rahul Gandhi would gain valuable insights from interacting with people in various villages. The Union minister is on a three-day tour to Chhattisgarh.
He emphasised the need to investigate the corruption in the panchayat department of Chhattisgarh, committed during the tenure of the Bhupesh Baghel government. He further stated that the Congress party has looted the panchayati raj system and that he is visiting to rectify the irregularities in the department.
On the Congress party’s stance on Ayodhya, the Union minister sarcastically remarked that the Ram temple organization had invited Sonia Gandhi as well, but she is not going. He accused the Congress of being anti-Hindu and criticised their approach to issues related to Hinduism. He claimed that the upcoming elections would not be in the four of Congress due to their “anti-Hindu” stance.
Meanwhile, Congress leader and former minister Shiv Kumar Dahariya accused the BJP of engaging in propaganda based on religion and caste. He emphasised that personal faith is a matter of individual belief, and the decision of when and where to visit a temple is personal.
Dahariya also commented on the probe into various schemes initiated during the Congress government’s tenure, stating that if there are any irregularities, they should be investigated, but he highlighted that the benefits of the implemented schemes were widespread.
Reacting to Giriraj Singh’s accusation of the Congress being anti-Hindu, Dahariya pointed out that both the RSS and BJP engage in caste and religious politics, a tactic historically employed by the British.
The Congress leader suggested that this kind of politics was contrary to Mahatma Gandhi’s fight against the British.
