Genome Valley Phase-II expected to attract Rs 30,000 investment: Sridhar Babu

HYDERABAD: Telangana government expects Phase-2 of Genome Valley, which it plans to take up over an additional 300 acres, to attract investments ranging from Rs 20,000 crore Rs 30,000 crore over the next five years, Telangana industries minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu said here on Tuesday on the sidelines of BioAsia 2024.
Talking about the proposed pharma clusters, he said a total of 10 clusters will be put up in various parts of the state, including three greenfield clusters at Vikarabad, Medak and Nalgonda.
“Each of these 10 clusters and villages will be around spread over 1,000-2,000 acres. First we will take up the three clusters in the first phase as we have to procure land and then the other seven will be taken up,” Sridhar Babu said, indicating that land acquisition for the first three clusters has already commenced.
“We have certain land banks. We will explore what is needed by our industry partners. The land assignments will be done based on the requirements of various companies,” he said.
