[ad_1] NEW DELHI: In a surprise move, government on Tuesday appointed former Railway Board chairman Anil Kumar Lahoti as the new chairman of Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (Trai).Barring Justice RS Sodhi and MS Verma (former SBI chairman), the top regulatory post has remained with retired IAS officers. The appointment comes four months after the last chairman PD Vaghela's term ended. Government had conducted interviews a second time with the high-profile job opened up to the private sector. Names of several former secretary-rank IAS officers were doing the rounds.
