NAGPUR: Nearly nine years after advocate Satish Uke moved the court against now Maharashtra deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis for suppressing information about two pending criminal cases while filing his affidavit before the 2014 assembly polls, Fadnavis’s lawyer Uday Dable has admitted to the blunder, saying it took place due to “overlooking”.
Dable filed a statement in this regard in the judicial magistrate first class court here on May 6 as a witness. Earlier, Fadnavis himself had admitted to the same fact when he deposed before the JMFC court on April 15 as an accused.
Judge VM Deshmukh adjourned the hearing till June 7.
Fadnavis had clarified that there was no intention to conceal any information about the two private complaints. He said he had asked Dable to collect details on his behalf about the pending criminal cases before 2014 polls, and the latter “overlooked” adding these two pending cases in the affidavit.
