Sandeep Reddy Vanga is the talk of the town ever since the release of ‘Animal’. The filmmaker has got a lot of appreciation for the film but more than that, he’s been battling criticism and accusations of misogyny and violence. Vanga’s first Hindi film ‘Kabir Singh‘ was also surrounded in controversies, however, he was surprised when Karan Johar showed appreciation for it.
At a roundtable event, Karan also showered love on ‘Animal’ and called it the best film of 2023. He said he loved it for its front-footed, conviction based narrative and said that it broke myths. During an interview with Siddharth Kanan, Vanga was asked if he was surprised with Karan’s praise for ‘Animal’. Vanga said that Karan had texted him during ‘Kabir Singh’ and said that he loved the film. Sandeep said that he didn’t expect Karan to like the Shahid Kapoor starrer but he loved it and same happened with ‘Animal’. Apart from Karan Johar, even ‘Arjun Reddy’ star Vijay Deverakonda said that he loved the movie.
Sandeep said that he’s constantly in touch with Vijay and they’ve always spoken about finding the right opportunity to work together again.
Meanwhile, when asked if Shahid Kapoor texted him for ‘Animal’, Sandeep said that maybe he has still not seen the film.
Post ‘Animal’, Vanga will be working on his next film ‘Spirit’ with Prabhas and only after finishing that, he will be getting into ‘Animal Park’.
