Emraan Hashmi faced a tough time when his son Ayaan Hashmi was diagnosed with first-stage cancer in 2014. The actor, in a recent interview, shared about those days and an important piece of advice he received from his guru and filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt.
In a chat with Radio Nasha, Emraan said that he and his family were resilient in overcoming that phase. “Even if we are all unaware of future struggles, there will always be a survival spirit that leads us all,” Emraan said, adding that he had to push through this and manage his professional life.

The actor recollected the professional advice that Mahesh Bhatt had given him.”People will understand your pain and they will help you, but they have invested money on you, so call all the producers and promise them that you will complete their projects,” Emraan quoted Bhatt as saying. Even if they are ready to help and understand the situation, they would be worried about their investment, and that’s how the world works.
The actor informed them that he needed a one-and-a-half-month break to go to Canada for his son’s treatment. But later he had to return and finish his movies. His son was there for a seven-month treatment, but he lied to his son that he would be back soon. He called this a tough phase of his life.

On the work front, Emraan Hashmi is gearing up for Karan Johar’s web series ‘Showtime’. It will be released on OTT on March 8. He was last seen playing the role of an antagonist in YRF’s Tiger 3 starring Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif.
