In an interview with an entertainment portal, Director Shawn Levy discussed the significance of Wolverine in the context of the reunion of Wolverine and Deadpool. He emphasised the deep respect and admiration the Deadpool 3 team held for James Mangold’s direction of the Logan movie. Levy assured fans that they would honour and fully respect the canon established by that film, ensuring it remains part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Shawn made it clear that his upcoming film’s storyline is heavily influenced by Logan and stated that he has always said that he can’t wait for the release of Deadpool 3 because he is excited to discuss his deep respect for Logan alongside Ryan Reynolds in interviews. “We love Logan. That happened. I want the world to know, as the producer and director, all of us share a deep love and respect for Logan, every aspect of how it’s crafted, and all the events that take place,” he said.
Meanwhile, Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool 3 will be released on November 8, 2024.
