HYDERABAD: Engineering & technology solutions provider Cyient has sealed a strategic partnership with German regional commercial aircraft manufacturer Deutsche Aircraft.
As part of the agreement, the two players will collaborate on the detailed design for manufacturing of the rear fuselage section of the 40-seater D328eco regional turboprop aircraft, which is an upgraded version of the Dornier 328 series.
Touted as a fuel-efficient aircraft, the D328eco is designed to operate on regional routes. With an increased passenger capacity, it requires specific structural updates.
Cyient CEO & executive director Karthikeyan Natarajan said Cyient’s expertise in the aircraft design and development lifecycle will play a crucial role in the development of the D328eco.
“This partnership underscores Cyient’s commitment to delivering innovative engineering solutions in the aerospace sector. Together, we look forward to driving advancements in aviation technology and contributing to the success of this transformative project,” Natarajan said.
Deutsche Aircraft CEO Dave Jackson said Cyient’s “vast experience” in the aerospace & defence industry was one of the key factors in contracting the company to be responsible for the design of the rear fuselage section as part of the D328eco aircraft development programme.
“This agreement represents a strong commitment to India. This new partnership with Cyient will enable Deutsche Aircraft to work with the best in the field and further enhance the development of the D328eco in a competitive setting,” added Maximilian Fahr, vice president of supply chain at Deutsche Aircraft.
