Deepika Padukone reveals how SRK got her onboard for Jawan: Did this for my love for Shah Rukh Khan

Following the recent success of Jawan at the box-office, the makers of the film hosted a press meet at the YRF office in Mumbai on Friday.

For the meet, Shah Rukh Khan rocked a black blazer with white shirt and kept his long hair in braids. Deepika Padukone was too seen looking ethereal in a black and white chiffon saree paired with a white halter-necked blouse.

Addressing the media, Deepika revealed her reasons for making a cameo in Jawan and said, “I was shooting for Project K in Hyderabad and they came in to narrate the role for me. I don’t know why they were trying to convince me any actor would have done it. I had decided in one minute that ai was going to do it.”

Joking about Deepika’s cameo, Shah Rukh Khan said, “We fooled Deepika and shot a full length film with her. She didn’t even know she’s one of the main characters.”

She further added, “I have nothing to say except I did this for my love for Shah Rukh. Didn’t expect it to be so huge but I am just here to support the team.”

Deepika also called SRK her lucky charm and said, “I feel like lucky charm is a very throwaway term. We just have immense love and respect for each other and trust. If I am on a set and he’s on one corner and and I’m on the other and if anything happens, he’s going to be the first one there to help.”

Directed by Atlee, Jawan stars Shah Rukh Khan, Vijay Sethupathi, Nayanthara, Sanya Malhotra, Priyamani, Sunil Grover, and more. The film will also see Deepika Padukone in a cameo. The film has broken all records and has become the highest Bollywood opener of all time.
