JAIPUR: A 54-year-old Rajasthan police sub-inspector, identified as Bhupendra Singh, lost his job late on Saturday following his arrest in Dausa for allegedly raping the five-year-old daughter of a junior police personnel the day before.
On the directions of DGP Umesh Mishra, Jaipur range IGP Umesh Dutta issued an order terminating the accused SI from the police service, an officer said.
Singh was assigned to a flying squad involved in operations related to the November 25 assembly elections, and was suspended immediately after his arrest on Friday. An FIR has been registered under IPC section 376 (rape), Pocso, and provisions in the SC/ST Prevention Act as the girl belongs to the Dalit community.
Singh has been accused of raping the girl in the house he rented in the Rahuwas police station area, where hundreds of villagers gathered following the discovery of the alleged crime. BJP Rajya Sabha MP Kirori Lal Meena alleged that local police tried to avoid writing the complaint.
