NEW DELHI: BJP MP Nishikant Dubey, who has accused Trinamool leader Mahua Moitra of taking bribes to ask questions in Parliament, on Wednesday claimed that a CBI probe had been ordered against her on his corruption complaint. “Lokpal has ordered CBI probe on my complaint against MP Mohua Moitra for indulging in corruption at the cost of national security,” the BJP MP said in a post on X.
Mahua Moitra faces allegations of asking questions in Lok Sabha to target Gautam Adani at the behest of businessman Darshan Hiranandani. The TMC MP has denied charges of taking bribes. However, she has admitted to sharing her parliamentary log-in details with Hiranandani, whom she called her “friend.”

The Trinamool MP reacted to the CBI probe news by once again targeting the Adani group. The CBI needs to first file FIR on Rs 13,000 crore Adani coal scam and then it is welcome to come, she said in a post on X. “National security issue is how dodgy FPI owned (inc Chinese & UAE ) Adani firms buying Indian ports & airports with Union home ministry’s clearance,” she added.

The Lok Sabha Ethics Committee is probing charges against the Trinamool MP on the complaint of Nishikant Dubey. During the first meeting of the panel, Mahua Moitra and the opposition members of the panel had walked out accusing the chairperson of asking indecent and unethical questions to the Trinamool MP. Ethics Panel chief had denied the charges and accused the opposition members of trying to help Mahua evade real questions related to the case.
