BTS’ V calls Greta Gerwig’s Barbie one of the most impactful films he has ever watched

Greta Gerwig’s Barbie, featuring Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling, has made a significant impact at the box office. In the battle for attention between Barbie and Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer, the latter emerged as the winner in India. However, Barbie captured the hearts of the American audience. Despite facing criticism from some quarters, the film garnered praise for its exploration of themes such as femininity and patriarchy.

Notably, BTS member V, also known as Kim Taehyung, openly expressed his admiration for Barbie, considering it one of the most influential movies he has ever seen.

Recently, in a Korean magazine interview, the singer was asked whether he has watched any films lately. To which he replied that it was Barbie and said, “Seriously, It is the most impactful film I have seen recently.”

The BTS members appear to have a deep affection for Barbie and the cast of the movie. Ryan Gosling, who portrayed the role of Ken, earlier gave BTS member Jimin a guitar with a Barbie theme after adopting Jimin’s appearance from his song video, Permission to Dance. Jimin wrote a thank you message on Instagram after receiving the guitar and posted a video where he said, “Hi Ryan and hi Ken, it’s Jimin. Congrats on your big release. My fans are excited to see your video so thank you so much. I could see that you look great in my outfit. Thank you for this guitar. I really love it. And I look forward to watching it, go Barbie.”

Meanwhile, on the work front, V is all set to make his solo appearance with his album titled Layover on September 8. The album will have six tracks, each reflecting a different aspect of V, who is well-known for his exceptional vocal abilities. Recently, the singer has released Love Me Again and Rainy Day, two tracks from the album. The song Love Me Again debuted at No. 96 at the Billboard’s Hot 100.
