JAIPUR: RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat on Friday claimed that Hindu “saints are doing more service than the missionaries”. Addressing workers at a Rashtriya Seva Sangam programme here, Bhagwat contended that the missionaries were running hospitals and schools all over the world but the saints “in four southern states” were long doing “far better work” in society.
“A Hindu service fair was held in Chennai. Then it was noticed the service done by the Acharyas, Munis, Sanyasis in four “prant” of southern India is many times more than the service of the missionaries,” he said. Bhagwat said the rulers who came from outside the country declared the natives who fought for freedom “criminals” as they led a nomadic life. “RSS have been working hard to establish (their) cultural rights,” he said.
