Ashutosh Gowariker’s next with Rishab Shetty to be about one of biggest rulers of South India | Hindi Movie News

Ashutosh Gowariker is known for his films like Lagaan: Once Upon a Time, Swades and Jodha Akbar and now he is back with another historical. This time he has teamed up with Rishab Shetty of Kantara fame as the lead and Vishnu Vardhan Induri as the producer.
Vishnu Vardhan Induri is known for films like the two-part NTR series (2019), Kangana Ranaut’s Jayalalithaa biopic Thalaivii (2021) and the much beloved sports biopic ’83 (2021).As per Bollywood Hungama, the film is about one of the biggest rulers of South India. And purely because of this, the director wanted to have an actor from the South to lead the film, someone who goes from rustic to an emperor in the phase of the film. And inRishab his search came to an end.
The report suggests that Vishnu Vardhan Induri is going all out to ensure that the film is a grand and visual spectacle. He and the whole team are excited to have Rishab Shetty on board. After the blockbuster success of Kantara, Rishab has amassed a huge fan following across the country. Moreover, Ashutosh Gowariker’s forte is period films. As a result, this will be one of the films to watch out for.
Furthermore, Ashutosh’s film will start only after Rishab completes Kantara 2’s shoot and post production and by that time Rishab will also be in the right zone to be in the film. The film is expected to go on floors in 2024 and will release in theatres in 2025. Ashutosh is currently working on the pre-production and getting the research in place and will also work on getting the right team for the film onboard.
Ashutosh is also returning to acting after a long gap with Kaala Pani. It is an OTT show and is backed by names like Sameer Saxena, Saurabh Khanna, Amit Golani and Biwapati Sarkar, who are known for the pathbreaking content they created for ‘The Viral Fever’. The show is a survival drama which is featuring an ensemble of characters who are all trying to escape the wrath of nature, as the vast sea confines them for thousands of kilometers. Kaala Pani boasts of a versatile cast comprising Mona Singh, Amey Wagh, Sukant Goel, Arushi Sharma, Radhika Mehrotra and Vikas Kumar to name a few.
