Arshad Warsi, who is known for his memorable performances, especially as Circuit in Munna Bhai MBBS franchise, recently shared insights into his iconic role. The actor revealed that his portrayal of Circuit left a lasting impact on audiences, but it was also a risk that paid off due to the freedom given to him by director Rajkumar Hirani.
During his conversation on Long Drive with Mr Faisu, Arshad discussed how Circuit could have taken a different trajectory if not for the trust and creative freedom granted by Hirani.”Tum dekho, woh role kya tha? Villain ke peeche chaar paanch lukhhe khade hote hai na, un mese mai ek tha. You tell me how many actors like those four guys do you remember?” he said.
When asked about Circuit being a turning point in his career, Arshad acknowledged the role’s significance and said, “It was a risk that I took. It was my destiny that I had Raju with me as a director and Sanju as my co-actor. Vidhu Vinod Chopra had clearly told me that I would be one of the four goons with slightly extra lines. He was very honest. I knew that Sanju was a very secure actor. He was never insecure and Raju had given me that freedom.”

Arshad also shared heartfelt sentiments about his bond with Sanjay Dutt, praising him as a great person and expressing admiration for his strength and kindness. “He is a great person. Very sweet. I find him very strong. He has gone through a lot of things. He is a very loving person. I get random messages from him. He sends ‘Bro, I miss you’ or he calls and says, ‘Bro I am in Africa, do you want anything?’” he said.

Arshad recently registered his marriage with wife Maria Goretti. The couple celebrated their 25th marriage anniversary on the occasion of Valentine’s Day. He was seen as one of the judges on Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa along with Farah Khan and Madhuri Dixit.
