Ace filmmaker Sandeep Reddy Vanga is currently enjoying the success of his recently released ‘Animal’. Meanwhile, it has been slammed by a section of people and termed’misogynistic’. Many are also criticizing Ranbir Kapoor’s animal character.
Now, director Sandeep Reddy Vanga, in a chat with Mashable India, has explained that scene and described it as ‘jalwa‘. The filmmaker explained the scene where Ranbir’s character enters his sister’s college after she is ragged by a bunch of seniors.
According to him, the whole emotion of the scene is when the boy enters the class and asks, “Who teased my sister?”, Everyone will be mocking him, saying, ‘Ab school ke bache bhi chedne lage’ (now school kids will also tease us).
The filmmaker further explained that there is a weird sense of understanding between the students and the professor. They are cracking jokes. Even the professor is feeling like, ‘What nonsense? Why is he interrupting my class?’ Rather than understanding, she may have been ragged.
Sandeep pointed out that it’s a heat and mass transfer lecture that’s going on. And the teacher, in the example that she is giving in the background, is talking about a classical example of heat and mass transfer, which is a bullet exiting a machine gun.
The filmmaker concluded by saying that the cut from a girl announcing that the ‘jalwa’ hasn’t started yet to Ranbir walking with a gun is supposed to signify that this is the ‘jalwa’.

‘Animal’ director Sandeep Reddy Vanga reveals that one thing which Ranbir Kapoor refused him for: ‘He didn’t like it all…’
