NEW DELHI: Accusing home minister Amit Shah, BJP chief JP Nadda and UP CM Yogi Adityanath of making “hate speeches” in Karnataka poll campaigns, Congress Tuesday petitioned EC and sought immediate action against them. It referred to the SC order which has sought quick action against hate speeches.
A delegation of members Vivek Tankha, Salman Khurshid, Ajay Maken and Pawan Khera submitted a memorandum to EC specifying the objectionable statements. Referring to Shah’s remark that “there would be riots in India if Congress comes to power”, Tankha said, “The fact is people holding constitutional positions shouldn’t make hate speeches. It’s against law…”
