Ameesha Patel confesses speaking about her relationship with Vikram Bhatt publicly took a beating on her career | Hindi Movie News

Ameesha Patel, who is all set to reprise her role of Sakina in director Anil Sharma‘s Gadar 2 alongside Sunny Deol, recently opened up about how speaking about her relationship with filmmaker Vikram Bhatt took a beating on her acting career.
“In this industry, if you’re honest, honesty is not welcomed. And I’m too honest because for me life is black and white and you get what you see with me.I am someone who wears my heart on my sleeves. I don’t think and I think that has been the biggest drawback for me in my life. And definitely, the only two relationships that I ever had in public, they did take a beating on my career. And for 12-13 years, I was like, ‘No men. Only peace. I want nothing else in my life.'”

She further explained, “Because the single status of a girl is always more attractive for the people that you work around. It’s always more attractive for your audiences. And they feel if you’re single or you’re dating someone in the industry or a superstar, that only benefits your career. Otherwise, they don’t accept it. A heroine dating a hero can still do films with the hero and continue getting work. For me, that was not the case. So, it does take a beating but you learn from it.”

In an old interview, Vikram had spoken about his relationship with Ameesha and had said that he understands the pain of an actress who falls from stardom. At that time, both were struggling to find success in their respective projects. He had also added that though her films like Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic didn’t do well, she never resorted to black magic or anything like that. He had wished her luck and hoped her future projects would hopefully do well.
Ameesha and Vikram dated for almost 5 years before calling it quits just before the release of the filmmaker’s film 1920.
